evaluation of acquisition desiccation tolerance in developing peanut seed (arachis hypogaea l.)

چکیده
time of acquisition desiccation tolerance in peanut seed during different growing stages was determined by evaluating seed moisture content, germination capability and electrical conductivity. it was done in research field of gorgan university of agricultural sciences and natural resources in completely block randomize design in four planting date and four replications. sampling was done weakly to harvest maturation. seeds produced in each pod was transferred to laboratory and moisture content and standard germination was determined. other part of seeds was dried slowly on air exposed condition and when it reached to 14-16 % of moisture content, standard germination test and electrical conductivity was done. according to the results, accumulation of seed reserves and seed moisture content declined gradually by 70 percent in the beginning stage of development to 30% in the later phase of accumulation reserves. germination of freshly harvested peanut seed started when more than half of total storage substances accumulate in seeds and moisture content was estimated about 40-46 percent. but seed which dried gradually germination started after seed accumulated 17-20 percent of total reserves and this was coincide to beginning of acquisition desiccation tolerance in peanut seeds. acquisition desiccation tolerance was started after 56-90 days after flowering and seed humidity was between 40-60 % based on fresh weigh. as results showed, desiccation tolerance was developed during 7 to 10 days and before accumulate less than 50 percent of total reserves in cotyledons that different planting date and subjected weather during plant growth stages could change it significantly.

Changes in auxin patterns in developing gynophores of the peanut plant (Arachis hypogaea L.).
The peanut plant (Arachis hypogaea L.) produces flowers aerially, but buries the recently fertilized ovules in the soil in order for the fruit and seeds to mature underground. The organ that carries the seeds into the soil is called the gynophore. The growth of the peanut gynophore is regulated primarily by indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). A monoclonal antibody raised against IAA was used to success...

Peanut is one of the most important crops in the world, both for vegetative oil and as a protein source. Biotechnology approaches provide promising ways to increase peanut productivity, either through improved seed quality or stress resistance. These approaches require the identification of genes that control important agronomical traits, the understanding of gene regulation and metabolic pathw...
متن کاملAnalysis of Seed Proteins in Groundnut Cultivars (Arachis hypogaea L.)
The seed protein contents and protein banding pattern were studied in commonly cultivated groundnut cultivars. The groundnut cultivars such as ICGV00351, TMV-7, CO-4,CO-6 and TG-374 were used for quantitative and qualitative analysis of seed proteins. The protein contents varied among the different varieties of groundnut. The maximum protein content was observed in CO-6 followed by CO-4, TMV-7,...

The ravages of the boll weevil have made it unprofitable to grow cotton in various sections throughout the South. In many regions where the growing of cotton has been decreased, peanuts are now being grown as a supplementary crop. This has caused a large increase in the production of peanuts in the United States. A number of mills which in the past produced cottonseed oil are now using their pr...
متن کاملSmall RNA and Degradome Deep Sequencing Reveals the Roles of microRNAs in Seed Expansion in Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.)
Seed expansion in peanut is a complex biological process involving many gene regulatory pathways. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important regulatory roles in plant growth and development, but little is known about their functions during seed expansion, or how they contribute to seed expansion in different peanut lines. We examined seed miRNA expression patterns at 15 and 35 days after flowering (DAF)...

The activities of a cationic (C.PRX) and an anionic peroxidase isolated from peanut (Arachis hypogaea)-cell suspension culture were drastically reduced when they were deglycosylated with glycopeptidase F or oxidized by 10 mM-periodate. In contrast with the controls, the deglycosylated or the oxidized peroxidases were much more susceptible to proteolytic degradation. In radiolabelling experiment...
